Panini, out now
The Doctor has to evade Rassilon in order to find Rose…
This month’s DWM features a lot of material on the Time Lord Victorious Daleks series, including information on how it ties into one of the other adventures (it’s almost in passing – blink and you’ll miss it). The genesis of the project and how it’s come together is detailed, along with an interview with Nick Briggs about playing Daleks.
The comic strip continues the 9th Doctor’s encounter with the vampires and Gallifreyans – including a link I’d not clicked regarding one element of the vampires that goes back decades in the DWM strip. Rose isn’t in this 8-page instalment that much, but it’s far to say that she makes a definite impression when she does – John Ross giving us a sight to remember! Scott Gray’s handle on Eccleston’s incarnation is strong and I’m pleased that we have material as part of Time Lord Victorious that allows us to see the 9th Doctor in action.
Verdict: The pieces are falling neatly into place. 8/10
