With his courageous companion, Ruby, the Doctor is back in the TARDIS for a whole new era of time-traveling tales. But fearsome foes await…
Titan’s Free Comic Book Day Doctor Who release kicks off their Fifteenth Doctor tie-in, serving as an opening chapter to their monthly series that launches in June.
The Doctor is picking up a sound that is entering the time vortex at different points, eventually settling at the execution of Dick Turpin in 1739. Arriving to see the famous highwayman ride away with the aid of advanced technology, the Time Lord and Ruby are curious as to who is helping him.
Artist Kelsey Ramsay has a unique way of depicting the characters, supporting a fun script by Dan Watters that embraces the scope and scale that a comic book can offer.
Verdict: An amuse-bouche to the main course, this is an encouraging introduction to the new Titan Doctor Who series. 7/10
