 The Eleventh and Eighth Doctor, together with Rose Tyler, must work together to find a way to end the reign of terror of the Bad Wolf Empress.

The multi-Doctor comic event continues with Rose trying to find a way to stop the Empress’ army from mobilising, if only she can stop the Doctors from bickering first! Having kidnapped the Bad Wolf Empress, the Eleventh Doctor plans to take her to worlds that she’s previously interfered with, to show her the error of her ways. The Eighth Doctor is meanwhile helping Rose to dress for the occasion and dupe her minions into thinking she’s the Empress.

There’s fun to be had in the pairings, but you can’t help thinking that we should have been here by the second issue, as there’s a lot that needs to be resolved in the final set of pages. There is, however, an unexpected cliffhanger that I didn’t see coming.

Verdict: Fun team-ups and the return of a popular villain make for an easy read, but will this make the landing? 6/10
