Titan Comics, out now
The Doctor and her ‘fam’ are looking for Perkins’ colleague Dr Schultz, who’s under the influence of the Hoarder. But before that there’s a hole to escape from.
The final instalment of Jody Houser and Rachel Stott’s comic book adaptation of the Doctor’s Series 11 sees the TARDIS travellers confront the skeletal Hoarder, a kidnapper of children and all-round villain (no rationalising here that he’s just misunderstood) and all threads paying off.
If anything, by the time the story concludes in the final couple of pages there’s not an awful lot of time to construct anything overly clever, and while the wrap-up has been in front of us the whole time, it does suffer from the Series 11 trend of clicking its fingers and all’s good ready for the next adventure.
Verdict: Titan’s 13th Doctor’s four-part comic book adventure benefits from some wonderful artwork and on-point dialogue for all the characters, setting up a high quality for this ongoing series. 8/10
