Having rescued time traveller Perkins, the Doctor and her friends realise that they’ve been duped, but what’s behind his plan to steal the TARDIS?

Rachael Scott’s superb rendering of the Doctor and Team TARDIS continues to impress with photo-real illustrations that are supported by Jody Hauser’s on-point dialogue that captures the compassionate, smart Gallifreyan that we’ve followed across the season. The Doctor reveals her strength at negotiating and proving that 9 times out of 10 she’s the smartest person in the room.

When Perkins finally relents, he confesses to what’s going on and we get some essential backstory about the Hoarder and the peril that his companion Dr Schulz is in. In the meantime, we don’t mind, as we’re spending far more time in the TARDIS then we do on TV, and it’s great to see the different corners, floor, ceiling and console from different angles.

Verdict: Very much a transitional episode, heavy on plot, but placing the characters in the right location for what promises to be a tense face-off. I really hope that the Hoarder isn’t one of those ‘He’s not bad, just misunderstood’ villains… 8/10
