The Doctor’s problems with Keira have multiplied by a factor of at least two…

Lou Morgan brings the latest box set for Jacob Dudman as the 12th Doctor, Timejacked!, to a close with a well crafted script that picks up on elements of the first two stories, and makes you look at them in a somewhat different light. She and Matt Fitton, who penned the first, have played scrupulously fairly with the listener, and while it’s tempting to buy into some of what’s being proposed, the real explanation stares you in the…er, ears… from the off.

We get a better understanding of who Keira is and why she turned up in Bristol so unexpectedly, with Dudman and Bhavnisha Parmar ending up a very solid Doctor/companion team – there’s opportunity for further encounters between them, and I hope that this has been successful enough for Big Finish to consider doing so. Holly Jackson Walters has something of an understated presence in the previous story, but more than makes up for it in this story! Helen Goldwyn allows Lee Adams’ sound design to do some heavy lifting (appropriately for this episode, given its title), and there’s an energy flowing throughout.

Verdict: An enjoyable side trip for the 12th Doctor concludes well. 8/10
