Los Angeles 2039 and Ash heads off to meet with Hythe, unaware that Luv has tracked down Cleo.
Book One of the Blade Runner sequel concludes with Ash and Luv finally meeting up. The latter wants to take Ash and Cleo to her creator, Niander Wallace, and is temporarily distracted by the former Blade Runner’s offer of a disc of Selwyn’s research, but is this just a ruse to buy some time.
The closer we get to the end of this series, the more that it’s beginning to dovetail into movie sequel Blade Runner 2049. It’s a canny move, bringing in legacy characters from both the films and the comic book’s first run, plotted (as always) cleverly by scribe Mike Johnson.
Verdict: More of the quality storytelling that we’ve come to expect from this series – it never disappoints. 8/10
