Titan Comics, out now
Los Angeles 2029, and faced with killing Yotun or rescuing Freysha, Ash chooses her wounded lover before being air-lifted to safety.
Ambrose, a healthcare worker, is subjected to a Voight-Kampff interview by a Blade Runner after his employer takes a closer look at his personnel records. What happens next takes place off-screen, suffice to say this Replicant goes on the run and is offered the chance to join Freysa’s underground movement or Youtun’s army. Sadly, the latter has more brute force at his disposal.
Ash is back on the case, her employer giving her a one week ultimatum to crack it before she’s saddled with a new partner, Marlowe. The introduction of important new characters keeps the story fresh, letting it twist and turn in this authentic extension of the Blade Runner universe.
Verdict: More players join the action in this expertly paced series that takes us deeper into the neon-lit neo-noir dystopia. 8/10
