Titan Comics, out now
With the aid of her old boss, Ash visits the ruins of the Tyrell Corporation and discovers the location of Selwyn, who in turn has activated a new version of Blade Runner Hythe.
As with the other two sequences in this comic book sequel to Blade Runner, issue two of the arc spends time setting up the main story before all hell lets loose. Last issue we went snooping round the shell of the Tyrell Corporation where Dr Fost helped Ash, though sadly he has lost five years of his life at some point.
Not wishing to bump into the violent squatters again, Ash leaves via a back door and is soon being pursued by Spinners, giving artist Andres Guinaldo the opportunity to dazzle with some night-time cityscapes. Unfortunately, she can’t outrun the LAPD, and back at HQ she meets the new boss who sends her down to a notorious detention centre. But maybe she has some guardian angels.
Verdict: The pages flash by far too quickly, and you can’t believe you have to wait another month to see what happens next. Patient people might wait for the collection, but there’s a real thrill waiting to see how each issue’s cliffhanger is resolved. 9/10
