As part of the Target Book Day 2025 held in London on July 19, three new Target novelisations were announced, for publication on 26 March 2026.

Joseph Lidster is novelising Russell T Davies’ first two-parter for the series, Aliens of London / World War Three, which featured Christopher Eccleston’s 9th Doctor.

Matt Jones is adapting his own scripts for The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit, which starred David Tennant as the 10th Doctor. (The Amazon bio is linked to the wrong author!)

Jenny Colgan will pen an adaptation of Steven Moffat’s two-parter for Matt Smith’s 11th Doctor The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone from Series 5.

At the event, Joe Lidster and Jenny Colgan each gave a reading of an excerpt from their books – although, as pointed out by BBC Books’ Albert DePetrillo and Steve Cole, this was unedited material and would be subject to editing.
