Composer Lalo Schifrin, best known for his 5/4-based theme for Mission: Impossible, has died aged 93.

In a long career, Schifrin scored hundreds of films and TV shows including the Dirty Harry and Rush Hour movies. His genre contributions included George Lucas’ THX-1138, The Amityville Horror, Return from Witch Mountain, The Cat From Outer Space, The Manitou, and Black Moon Rising in the cinemas, as well as scores for The Man From UNCLE and Planet of the Apes on the small screen.
