Scottish actor Prentis Hancock, well known to genre fans for his roles in Doctor Who and Space: 1999, has died aged 83.
Hancock appeared in Doctor Who serials with Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker, with the best remembered probably being as Salamar in Louis Marks’ Planet of Evil. He played Paul Morrow in Space: 1999, with other genre appearances in The New Avengers, Return of the Saint, Survivors, the two Chocky sequels – Chocky’s Children and Chocky’s Challenge, and Outlander.
I first saw Prentis Hancock as Salamar in Doctor Who: Planet Of Evil which was a superb intro. R.I.P., Prentis.
