American writer Peter David has died, at the age of 68.

David was an accomplished figure in the genre, with celebrated runs on many comicbooks, including 12 years on The Incredible Hulk. He wrote over 50 Star Trek novels for various different parts of the franchise, as well as creating the New Frontier series.  Amongst his scriping work, he contributed scripts to Babylon 5 and Crusade, and co-created Space Cases with Bill Mumy. His original novels included the Sir Apropos of Nothing series.
