The latest in the line of Slayers has been revealed: Star Wars Skeleton Crew’s Ryan Kiera Armstrong will star alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar in the reboot pilot for Hulu.

Eternals’ Chloé Zhao is directing the pilot, written by Nora and Lilla Zuckerman. Armstrong’s as yet unnamed character is “an introverted high-school student”.

“From the moment I saw Ryan’s audition, I knew there was only one girl that I wanted by my side,” Gellar, who is executive producing the project, said. “To have that kind of emotional intelligence, and talent, at such a young age is truly a gift. The bonus is that her smile lights up even the darkest room.”

“We are so overjoyed to have found this generation’s slayer in Ryan Kiera Armstrong, she absolutely blew us away — there is no question in our mind that she is the chosen one,” the Zuckermans said.

Armstrong’s other genre roles include Black Widow, and the lead in the latest version of Firestarter.
