Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar is linked to a revival of the series for Hulu.

Nora and Lilla Zuckerman will write and executive produce the Buffy pilot with Eternals’ Chloé Zhao, Gellar, and the original show’s EPs Gail Berman, Fran and Kaz Kuzui of Suite B, and Dolly Parton via Sandollar also executive producing. According to THR, “the new Buffy would focus on a younger Slayer and that Gellar’s Buffy Summers would not be the central character.” They also state that Joss Whedon is not involved with the project. Deadline notes that a writer’s room is being set up.

A previous attempt to revive the show in 2018 did not get past the development stage.
