Prolific British author, and regular contributor to Sci-Fi Bulletin, David A. McIntee has died aged 55.
McIntee contributed numerous books to the Doctor Who ranges for Virgin and BBC Books, as well as stories for Star Trek and Space: 1999 among many others. His non-fiction work included books on Voyager and the early Alien/Predator films.
On a personal note, David and I got to know each other over 25 years ago when we travelled together to a US Doctor Who convention, and I had the pleasure of editing his work many times over the years. He provided dozens of reviews for Sci-Fi Bulletin, focusing on the Eureka Entertainment releases and in recent years, on soundtracks. He was also extremely kind and generous following my own terminal diagnosis, with some very helpful private words of guidance.
Very sad. His book, ‘Delta Quadrant,’ an unofficial guide to the first five and a bit seasons of ‘Star Trek: Voyager’ was an engaging read.
