Various pieces of Star Trek news were revealed in the big panel on July 27.

Strange New Worlds season 3 will feature Cillian Sullivan as Dr Roger Korby in a recurring role; Korby has a key part to play in Christine Chapel’s life. A clip from one of the more comedic episodes in season 3 was also played.

A stage version of the Strange New Worlds episode Subspace Rhapsody is apparently also being considered, according to Akiva Goldsman.

Lower Decks’ final season will start with two episodes on October 24, with the remaining eight airing weekly until the finale on December 19.

The Section 31 movie is due to air in early 2025, with a teaser featuring Michelle Yeoh being shown. Miku Martineau (Honor Society) will play young Philippa. The rest of the cast includes Omari Hardwick (Power), Kacey Rahl (Hannibal), Sam Richardson (Ted Lasso), Sven Ruygrok (One Piece), Robert Kazinsky (Pacific Rim), Humberly Gonzalez (Ginny & Georgia) and James Hiroyuki Liao (Barry).

New series Starfleet Academy has added four legacy cast members: Robert Picardo, returning as the EMH in live action after featuring in season 2 of Prodigy, Tig Notaro, Oded Fehr and Mary Wiseman, all reprising their roles from Discovery. Gina Yashere will have a recurring role as an instructor, joining Holly Hunter, Kerrice Brooks, Bella Shepard, George Hawkins, Karim Diané, Zoë Steiner and Paul Giamatti.

A new comedy Trek series is also in development, cowritten by  Justin Simien and Tawny Newsome with Alex Kurtzman. In the half hour show, Federation outsiders serving a gleaming resort planet find out their day-to-day exploits are being broadcast to the entire quadrant.
