Tormé was one of the key staff in the early years of the first Star Trek sequel, writing the episode The Big Goodbye, which won a Peabody Award. Together with Robert K. Weiss he created alternate-world drama Sliders for the then Sci-Fi Channel. His other genre work included the mini-series Intruders, The Outer Limits, Odyssey 5 and Carnivale as well as a treatment for what became I Am Legend, for which he received a co-producer credit.
