The third coming of Battlestar Galactica has a new showrunner – The Sinner’s Derek Simonds.

The crime anthology’s showrunner replaces Michael Leslie who has been linked to the project that is being overseen by Mr Robot’s Sam Esmail, according to Deadline. The original Battlestar Galactica was created by Glen A. Larson and ran for the 1978-79, with a short-lived sequel Galactica 1980 the following year. The concept was rebooted by Ronald D; Moore and David Eick in 2003, with that variant having a short-lived prequel, Caprica. This latest version has been mooted since 2019, but firstly COVID and then the various strikes last year have stopped it moving forward – but there may yet be brothers of man, who even now, fight to survive, somewhere beyond the heavens…
