David Soul, who starred in the first version of Stephen King’s ‘Salem’s Lot opposite James Mason, has died aged 80.

Although best known for his role as Ken “Hutch” Hutchinson in the long running cop show Starsky & Hutch, Soul appeared in a number of genre productions, including I Dream of Jeannie, Star Trek and the miniseries World War III.

  1. Very sad news. I liked David in Starsky & Hutch. Though I think my favorite performance by him was in the 1983 TV movie thriller Through Naked Eyes with Pam Dawber. I of course also remember him from his classic Star Trek guest role as Makora in The Apple. R.I.P., David.
