Dark Shadows star Lara Parker has died aged 84.

Parker was renowned for playing the witch Angelique (and multiple variants of the character) in the horror soap opera, and also penned four novels based on the series. She made many appearances in Big Finish’s continuation of the series on audio.

“I’m heartbroken, as all of us are who knew and loved her,” her Dark Shadows co-star and longtime friend Kathryn Leigh Scott said in a statement. “She graced our lives with her beauty, talent and friendship, and we are all richer for having had her in our lives.”

Parker’s other genre appearances included Kolchak the Night Stalker, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Incredible Hulk (as Laura Banner), Galactica 1980, Manimal and a brief cameo in Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows movie.
