Now that the writers’ strike has been resolved, work has begun once more on the new Star Trek series, Starfleet Academy.
According to Collider’s report from the New York ComicCon, the series’ writers’ room includes Tawny Newsome, from Lower Decks, and the tone will be lighter. It “will follow academy students as they discover who they are, making mistakes along the way, before they’re assigned to a ship in the fleet.” It is being assumed this is set in the 32nd century, picking up from Star Trek Discovery, although that has yet to be officially confirmed.
