Carrie and Twin Peaks star Piper Laurie has died aged 91.
Laurie was best known to genre fans initially for her role as Carrie’s religious obsessive mother in the Brian de Palma adaptation of the Stephen King novel and gained new fans for her role as Catherine Martell in the original series of Twin Peaks for David Lynch. Her other genre roles included Return to Oz, Dario Argento’s Trauma as well as The Faculty, two segments of the 1980s The Twilight Zone, the original Beauty and the Beast TV series, Touched by an Angel and Dead Like Me.
