To mark Captain Scarlet Day, Anderson Entertainment and Big Finish has released a new audiobook featuring the characters from Gerry and Sylvia Anderson’s 1967 series.

Based on the comic strip from the pages of TV21 in 1968, the audiobook has been adapted by author and producer, Chris Dale, and narrated by Wayne Forester, best known for voicing Captain Scarlet in the CGI New Captain Scarlet series from 2005.

The audiobook takes Captain Scarlet back to the Mysteron city on Mars in a story, based on the original TV21 comic strip story, issues 164-166.

The Mysterons… Sworn enemies of Earth… Possessing the ability to recreate an exact likeness of an object or person… But first, they must destroy… Leading the fight, one man fate has made indestructible… His name; Captain Scarlet.

With the fate of the world at stake, Captains Scarlet and Ochre must travel to the Mysteron city on Mars – but will they be in time to prevent disaster?

Chris Dale said: “This has always been one of my favourite Captain Scarlet stories. The scale is grand and epic. There’s so much at stake. It’s been great to take this favourite story of mine from childhood and expand on and explore the narrative to create this very special audiobook.”

This audiobook marks a new style of Anderson audios, where Forester takes the helm, providing both the narration and all character voices.
