There’s another case for Torchwood Soho brewing, with news that a fresh tale will be released in February 2024.

Two-time Tony nominee Samuel Barnett is back as Torchwood One’s Norton Folgate in a six-part political thriller written by James Goss. Also returning is Tom Price (as Sergeant Andy), Dervla Kirwan (as Lizbeth Hayhoe), Joe Shire (as Gideon Lyme) and Class star Greg Austin (as the devious government agent, Armitage).

Is the end of the world really nigh? A number of groups believe so – and what’s odder, they’re all vanishing.

Have they really gone to heaven, or is something far worse happening? It’s Torchwood. Obviously something far worse is happening.

Producer James Goss said: “We always have such a fun time in the studio on these. Getting to spend time with Sam, Tom and Joe is always a treat – there’s a real company feel.

“They’re sometimes not easy scripts to say – a 1950s-themed sci-fi tongue-twisters – but when you’ve got Dervla Kirwan attacking the lines with such vigour and joy, it’s a real delight. It’s the story of how one tiny miscommunication goes global with truly terrible consequences.”

Torchwood Soho: Ascension is now available to pre-order as a collector’s edition 3-disc CD box set (+ download for just £22.99) or a digital download only (for just £18.99), exclusively from http://www.bigfinish.com.
