Although the just announced writers’ strike may alter plans for filming, Noah Hawley’s Alien series has its star, with news that Sydney Chandler will be playing one of the leads.

FX are being very cagey with regard to the show but it is known that it’ll be set towards the end of the 21st century and be based on Earth. It’s been described as a “brave and original reinvention” of the franchise that began with Ridley Scott’s 1979 movie.
