Bill Butler, whose cinematography on Jaws scared a generation, has died aged 101.

One of Butler’s first films was Steven Spielberg’s TV horror movie, Something Evil which led to him working on Jaws and suggesting the use of a hand held camera.

His film resume also included Peter Hyams’ Capricorn One, Demon Seed, Damien: Omen II, the first Child’s Play, Anaconda and The Plague; on TV his genre work included the 1972 anthology series Ghost Story, and the original Bates Motel TV movie as well as episodes of Dark Skies and G vs E.
