In perhaps the least surprising superhero news of 2023, James Gunn has announced that he will be directing as well as writing Superman: Legacy, the first of the new wave of DC movies.
The film – about Superman reconciling his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing in Smallville – is due for release in 2025 as the first part of Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters, an ambitious 10 year plan for the DC screen universe.
