The Academy Awards rewarded a number of genre movies at the ceremony on March 12 – with Everything Everywhere All at Once taking away 7 of the Oscars for which it was nominated.

It won best leading actress for Michelle Yeoh, best supporting actor for Ke Huy Quan and best supporting actress for Jamie Lee Curtis as well the best original screenplay and the best director awards for Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert — aka Daniels — as well as best film editing for Paul Rogers.

Avatar: The Way of Water won best visual effects, with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever taking best costume design, and Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio named best animated film.
