After the major shifts at DC following the appointment of James Gunn and Peter Safran, the Dead Boy Detectives series is heading from HBO Max to Netflix, according to THR.

The series, based on the comics by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner, doesn’t fit with the new series planned for the first chapter of the new DC screen universe.  George Rexstrew and Jayden Revri play dead British teenagers Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland in the series in “a fresh take on a ghost story that explores loss, grief and death through the lens of Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland … and their very alive friend, Crystal Palace (played by Kassius Nelson). It’s a lot like a vintage detective series — only darker and on acid.” Ruth Connell reprises her role as Night Nurse from Doom Patrol.
