The latest set of adventures for the First Doctor and Dodo are out now, starring Stephen Noonan and Lauren Cornelius.

The First Doctor hunts terrifying demons and investigates a post-WW2 conspiracy in a brand-new box set of full-cast audio dramas.

In the opening tale, Bhavnisha Parmar – best-known for playing Yaz’s sister, Sonya Khan, in Doctor Who – makes a special appearance as English teacher Archana “Archie” Pawar.

The Doctor and Dodo explore two contrasting eras on Earth, in stories set in modern-day Camden Town and a post-war seaside town.

The Demon Song by Bob Ayres

Managing to land the TARDIS in Dodo’s far flung future, the 2020s, the Doctor detects a haunting melody on the streets of Camden. People are going missing, and one of them is Dodo!

The Incherton Incident by Nicholas Briggs

Something intercepts the TARDIS in space. Attempting to escape its grip, the Doctor inadvertently drags it through time to coastal England in 1947. As the nation recovers from World War Two, an alien force threatens total destruction.

Stephen Noonan said: “There isn’t a more protected, loved and cherished part of the Doctor Who fandom than the First Doctor – without whom, we wouldn’t be here. I feel a very strong responsibility to do my very best to honour this because it’s so important to all of the listeners and to me. Hopefully it’s the essence of the character that’s being delivered. I’m bringing my own spin on it.

“It’s great fun to see the First Doctor in Camden Town and relating with youngsters in The Demon Song. The story is brilliantly structured and was great fun to work on. And with The Incherton Incident, Nick has written a terrific two-parter which is historically fascinating.”

Lauren Cornelius added: “The Demon Song is an amazing, fantastic assault on the senses. It’s got a bit of demonology in it, some paranormal activity and wonderful singing.

“The Incherton Incident took me by surprise. Poor Dodo has it rough in this episode but she still maintains her inquisitiveness. Dodo is developing in her own right and she’s getting more confident. I’m enjoying getting to know her even better and going on this journey with her.

“Working with Stephen is a joy all day, every day. He’s just brilliant and I love coming into the studio. We’ve all had a really jolly old time. Stephen is so fantastic at what he’s doing and his work is so incredibly detailed.”

Bhavnisha Parmar said: “I think Doctor Who fans are some of the most wonderful fans out there. The commitment and the love for the stories is incredible. I’ve been really lucky and blessed to be a part of this world.

“My first reaction when I read The Demon Song was that it felt very fresh and fun. I think there’s an intelligent humour in it which was really nice to read. It’s a hypnotic story which brings together two worlds that need to help each other to get out of a possessed situation.”
