Big Finish mark Valentine’s Day with the release of the first of the Torchwood romance stories, featuring the return of Suzie Costello.

Indira Varma (Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Capture, Carnival Row) makes a grand return as the untrustworthy Suzie in a dynamic tale that finds her lovestruck at the bottom of the ocean…

An island’s appeared in the North Atlantic Ocean. Suzie Costello comes to investigate and finds a crashed spaceship on the seabed.

Inside the spaceship is a mystery. And also something Suzie has never dreamed of.

Writer Rafaella Marcus, making her Big Finish debut with this release, said: “There was so much that I enjoyed about writing this script. I love writing an impossible love story. I find that deeply compelling.

“Suzie contains some incredibly interesting contradictions. The word ‘ruthless’ comes to mind and that’s very much where she’s at when we meet her in the show. I was very interested in how she got to that point and what happened to her that exploited her other extreme which is a very painful vulnerability.

“I wanted to write a love story for her because I was interested in who the other person would need to be and what the circumstances would need to be for this incredibly secretive and closed-off person to even consider opening themselves up.”

Joining Indira Varma in the talented cast is James Backway (The King’s Man) as the dashing pilot Anwir, alongside Danielle Kassaraté (stage actor and co-founder of the UK’s first all-black, all-female Shakespeare Company, Mawa Theatre Company) as Magda and Orion.

Torchwood: The Last Love Song of Suzie Costello is now available to own as a collector’s edition 1-disc CD + download (for just £10.99) or as a digital download only (for just £8.99), exclusively from www.bigfinish.com.
