British director Mike Hodges – best known to genre fans for helming the 1980 version of Flash Gordon – has died aged 90.
Hodges was renowned for his debut feature, Get Carter, which he adapted himself from the Ted Lewis novel. His other genre work included the 1974 adaptation of Michael Crichton’s The Terminal Man, co-scripting Damien: Omen II (which he was originally slated to direct), and the 1985 spoof Morons from Outer Space.
