British director Gabrielle Beaumont, who helmed episodes of three different Star Trek series, has died aged 80.
Beaumont travelled to the US in 1980 where she was hired by Aaron Spelling. She had already produced horror films The Johnstown Monster, The Corpse and The Godsend (which she also directed) and helmed two episodes of The Tomorrow People. Her American work included an episode of Beauty & The Beast and one of seaQuest DSV, as well as the movie Beastmaster III.
Her first of 7 Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes was season 3’s The Booby Trap, concluding with season 7’s Lower Decks. She helmed DS9’s In Purgatory’s Shadow and Voyager’s Blink of an Eye.
