Mike Flanagan’s The Midnight Club won’t be meeting for a second outing, Variety has reported.

The writer/director suggested that the Netflix series could return, telling press at the October launch that “it was very much designed to continue. Pike has 80 books, so we have a lot of unused material to pull from… We also didn’t answer some of the bigger questions of the season. Those answers exist, but were meant to be for the next season. If there isn’t one, I’ll put them up on Twitter. Then we’ll at least all be able to talk about it.”

Flanagan and producing partner Trevor Macy have just signed a deal with Amazon Studios, but their version of Edgar Allan Poe’s Fall of the House of Usher has yet to arrive on Netflix.

“Amazon is a studio that we have long admired,” Flanagan and Macy said. “Their commitment to engaging in groundbreaking series and content aligns with the ethos of what we have built at Intrepid. We are looking forward to working with the entire Amazon team as we bring our brand of genre productions to the service and audiences around the globe.”
