This year, explore the historical tradition of spooky seasonal stories with Queen Victoria (Rowena Cooper) in Jonathan Barnes’ tale, directed by Lisa Bowerman.
Christmas Eve, and in a secret library underneath Buckingham Palace, Queen Victoria has invited her new prime minister to a very private tradition. At one hour to midnight, the monarch insists on the telling of ghost stories. Stories of the supernatural, the alien, and the unsettling. Only this year, something else has got in.
We are not alone.
Writer Jonathan Barnes said: “It’s a Torchwood ghost story for Christmas! The Empire Man contains three linked ghost stories which have an unexpected conclusion, with Queen Victoria as the master of ceremonies.”
Poirot’s Hugh Fraser joins the haunting tale as devoted palace footman, Castringham. Richard David-Caine (Horrible Histories) also appears as a Prime Minister with a secret, alongside West End star Patience Tomlinson as Queen Victoria’s former nanny, Mrs Wickmere!
Torchwood: The Empire Man is now available to pre-order for just £10.99 (collector’s edition single-disc CD + download) or £8.99 (digital download only), from www.bigfinish.com.
