Although Rogue Squadron has gone onto the back burner, it seems as if there’s still appetite at Lucasfilm/Disney for a big screen Star Wars tale – even as the Disney+ series gain acclaim.

Damon Lindelof is co-writing the script for one film (his co-writer is as yet unrevealed) with Ms Marvel director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will be helming that movie, according to reports at Deadline and THR. The Taika Waititi proposed movie is also still in contention for one of the two “untitled Star Wars” slots on Disney’s schedule for Christmas 2025 and Christmas 2027.
