The writers of Joker and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier/Captain America: New World Order look set to team up for the new Spawn movie, according to THR,
Joker’s Scott Silver, Falcon and the Winter Soldier’s Malcolm Spellman and rising writer Matt Mixon are now attached to the project, with creator Todd McFarlane noting that the release and reception of Joker marked a sea change in the way comicbook movies were regarded, so it seemed logical to go after that movie’s writer.
“I grew up in Berkeley, which is a comic book city. Todd McFarlane’s Spawn character was always one of my favourites — a Black superhero that was no bullshit, he was cool and dealt with modern issues,” Spellman noted in a statement. “Myself, Matt Mixon, and Scott Silver are pledged to honouring what Todd started and what Spawn is at its core, delivering something that’s relevant and edgy and unlike any other superhero movie out there.”
