American producer and writer Zack Estrin has died, aged 51.

The showrunner of Netflix’s Lost in Space began his writing career on the original Charmed, as well as being the show’s story editor and co-producer, and had writing credits on Tru Calling, where he was supervising producer, as well as the show he created – Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. He was also executive producer of the short-lived The Whispers.

Matt Thunell, vp series at Netflix said: “Zack was a beloved writer, producer, and partner, whose work taught us to seek adventure and trust in family. His vision and passion will be greatly missed.”
