A lot of detail was revealed at D23 with regards to the casting of Phases 5 and 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Loki season 2 will see Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Everything Everywhere…’s Ke Huy Quan join the cast alongside Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant as well as Rafeael Casal.
Don Cheadle will lead the cast of the Disney+ series Armor Wars, which will be a follow up to elements of Secret Invasion.
Captain America: New World Order will see Shira Haas play Sabra, with Tim Blake Nelson as The Leader, as well as Danny Ramirez and Carl Lumbly reprising their roles from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier as Joaquin Torres and Isaiah Bradley. As with She-Hulk’s use of Tim Roth’s Abomination, Nelson’s Leader harks back to the 2008 movie The Incredible Hulk, which can really no longer be regarded as “adjacent” to the MCU!
The Thunderbolts cast was revealed: Sebastian Stan will return as Bucky, with David Harbour as the Red Guardian, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Florence Pugh as Yelena, Hannah John-Kamen as the Ghost and Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster. Jake Schreier will direct the movie from a script by Eric Pearson. It’s set to open in July 2024.
