Propstore is to hold its next poster auction this September, with the posters and artwork on offer expected to fetch in excess of £350,000. Over 530 rare, sought-after posters and artworks will be sold during the auction on Thursday 15th September 2022 from 15:00 GMT.
The sale features one of the best Star Wars poster collections ever brought to auction, including, a “Gone with the Wind style” UK poster from The Empire Strikes Back (1980) (Estimate £8,000 – 10,000)
Propstore is offering content from the official archive of famed cinema poster artist, Tom Chantrell, best known for his iconic Star Wars artwork. The auction will feature a collection of fantastic lots, including a never-before-seen UK quad “Style C” transparency from Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) estimated between £3,000 – 5,000.
An incredible selection of sought-after posters from sci-fi and horror classics includes posters from Forbidden Planet (1956) and Attack of the 50 foot Woman (1958), estimated to sell between £5,000 – 7,000 and £4,000 – 6,000 respectively, as well as a rare Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1942) US one-sheet, estimated between £4,000 – 6,000, and with the 60th anniversary of James Bond this year, there’s also a rare “Style A” UK quad poster from Goldfinger (1964), estimated at £4,000 – 6,000
