Q The Music – whose renditions of the music from the James Bond series of movies has garnered consistent praise over the years – is coming to an end, and going out in style with a major concert in London’s West End on Sunday October 23 at 5 p.m.
They are now in the final leg of their farewell tour as they bring down the curtain on 18 years of performing at community events and theatre shows, during which time they have become well known for their James Bond songs and cues covers. The tour will culminate at the appropriately named “Her Majesty’s Theatre” – a venue which houses “Phantom of the Opera” – the second longest running theatre show in the world.
The show will feature their largest ever orchestra. Normally Q The Music are known as a 13 piece band, on this one there will be close to 40 performers including live strings. It will, in part, be a celebration of Q The Music’s journey, and will showcase moments from their biggest highlights such as OHMSS50 and Sir Roger Moore’s Memorial.
The actual set list is a very closely guarded secret as they want the audience to really experience an adrenaline and emotional rollercoaster, but there will be many surprises with some of the hardest cues and medleys they’ve ever done. It will include all the best and biggest songs from the James Bond songbook, but some of the so-called “weaker ones” will make way for “other exciting and awe-inspiring pieces”.
The three Bond girls comperes (Caroline Bliss, Caroline Munro & Madeline Smith) who have worked with Q The Music over the past 5 years will be there for the final show.
Less than 100 tickets remain and can be ordered here.
