The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will form the epilogue to Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, falling between November’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and February’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

James Gunn confirmed the news on Twitter, emphasising that – unlike the I Am Groot cartoons arriving next week – the Holiday Special, due to arrive in December 2022, is an essential part of the Guardians’ journey.
