The Avengers’ destiny will be in new hands for the culminating movies of the latest phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with news that Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton will be helming the first of the two movies, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

The title of the movie was confirmed at the weekend at Comic-Con. THR broke the news that Cretton has the coveted assignment. He is also working on a Shang-Chi sequel and a Wonder Man TV series (neither of which were mentioned at the weekend).

Avengers: The Kang War is due out on May 2, 2025.
