There’ll be an extra three month gap to wait for the arrival of Sony’s Madame Web, after the studio announced that the Spider-Man universe movie will now open on October 6, 2023.
It had been due to take the July 7 slot. Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Emma Roberts, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahir Rahim, Mike Epps and Adam Scott star in the movie directed by S.J. Clarkson based on a script by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.
Sony has also confirmed a “Marvel Universe title” on June 7, 2024, which would seem likely to be the next mainstream MCU iteration of Spider-Man.
A fifth Insidious will be released on July 7 in place of Madame Web, picking up the story ten years later.
