Attention is starting to turn to Sony’s animated Spider-Man sequel, Across the Spider-Verse, which is due out in June 2023.

A presentation at the Annercy International Film Festival on June 13 revealed multiple pieces of casting news:

Jason Schwartzman will be playing The Spot, the main villain of the film. The character, real name Dr Jonathan Ohmn, first appeared in 1985’s Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man #98, created by Al Milgrom and Herb Trimpe

Also joining the villainous roster for the movie will be Jorma Taccone as the Vulture – most recently seen making a cameo appearance at the end of Sony Pictures’ Morbius. A brief clip was shown at the festival which also introduced Shea Whigham as George Stacey.
