Denis Villeneuve’s Dune won six Academy Awards at the ceremony last night – even though most of them were not broadcast thanks to a controversial decision by ABC to keep some of the craft awards out of the broadcast programme.

The Frank Herbert adaptation won best cinematography, editing, score, visual effects, production design and sound. Most of the winners are expected to return for Part Two with cinematographer Greig Fraser explaining, “Part Two is a bigger story. I read the script, and I was more blown away than Part One.”
