Christina Ricci – Wednesday in the Addams Family movies of the 1990s – is joining Jenna Ortega as Wednesday in the Netflix series currently shooting.

Netflix confirmed the news, originally broken by Deadline, that Ricci would be playing a new character. She’s joined the cast following Thora Birch’s departure, although she’s not playing the same role.
