Rory Williams – aka The Lone Centurion – is on his way to Camelot in the latest set of adventures, out now from Big Finish.

Arthur Darvill returns to play Rory, the Eleventh Doctor’s companion, in his enduring quest to guard the Pandorica, a prison containing his beloved Amy Pond, held in stasis for two millennia until her life can be restored. However, this time, the “Boy Who Waited” is taking a trip to King Arthur’s court.

Along his travels, Rory encounters the legendary Sir Lancelot (Hugh Skinner) and the wizard Merlin (Richard Clifford). Bravery, dedication, and a humble nature will win him both friends and foes among the knights of the Round Table. But will a joust at Camelot Kingdom ultimately put the Pandorica in danger?

Rory Williams – the Lone Centurion. A man trapped in a body not his own and stranded in history. His one job is to guard the Pandorica, the tomb of his fiancée. But life gets in the way, even when you’re immortal.

The three stories in this box set are:

The Once and Future Nurse by Alfie Shaw

Camelot is in trouble. Lancelot is wounded and Merlin warns that dark times are ahead. The wizard’s convinced the solution lies in the mythical Pandorica. Meanwhile, Lancelot owes his life to a humble servant named Rory.

The Glowing Warrior by Tim Foley

Arise Sir Rory! Every new knight must embark upon a quest, and soon Sir Rory (and his noble squire Lancelot) head out to solve the mystery of the Glowing Knight and save a damsel in distress. But are they walking into a trap?

The Last King of Camelot by Kate Thorman

Camelot is under attack. Arthur and Guinevere have fled and Merlin’s direst prophecies have come true. Can Rory prevail before the kingdom falls?

Featured in the cast are Sam Stafford (Vikings: Valhalla) as King Arthur, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo (Devs, Wednesday, The Dungeon Run) as Queen Guinevere, Tom Alexander (Horrible Histories, Neverwhere) as Mordred and Maanuv Thiara (Ted Lasso, Landscapers) as the villagers.

Arthur Darvill said: “When we talked about Camelot, it sounded like such a fun idea and the scripts really delivered. I love the tone the writers have taken with it. It’s silly and great!

“The stakes are also very high for Rory. He has some really serious obstacles to overcome. He has the challenge of not revealing his secret, whilst trying to be a good person, do his best for everyone and remain alive at the same time.

“I would like to do as many of these audio adventures as possible. I’ve really loved it. I’m excited to see where it goes, what other periods in history we could explore and what else Rory gets himself into.”

The Lone Centurion – Volume Two: Camelot is now available to own as a collector’s edition 3-disc CD (at £19.99) or digital download (at £16.99), exclusively from the Big Finish website.
