The movie version of Stephen Schwartz’s Wicked, based on Gregory Maguire’s novel, is getting nearer production, with filming set to start in the UK in summer 2022, and Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande have revealed they are playing the two leads.

Erivo will play Elphaba – the Wicked Witch of the West –  while Grande will play Glinda, the Good Witch in the musical prequel to The Wizard of Oz to be directed by John M. Chu.
